At Patina Design Studio (PDS), we provide full service, turnkey design solutions that deliver functionally approachable spaces exuding playful sophistication as we tackle the complexities and logistics of the design and build process for our clients.

We ask a lot of questions up front and do the heavy lifting in the PRE-DESIGN and DESIGN phases, to maximise efficiency, economy of scale and minimise surprises at the DESIGN EXECUTION phase.
Here is our process.
1. CALL AND CONSULTATION
Goals, requirements and aspirations for the project are discussed. We fill in a questionnaire designed to discover who you are, how you live and uncover ways we can enhance your lifestyle. Then, we walk through site providing actionable design advice. This is a working meeting where PDS shares ideas with you.
2. DESIGN AGREEMENT AND DEPOSIT
We go through our process with you and answer questions to establish what we can expect from each other at each step of the project. A deposit is paid to commission PDS to dedicate time in our calendar to your project.
3. SITE MEASURE AND TRADES
PDS arrange for a surveyor to visit site to take important measurements and photographs or, depending on the size and requirements of the project, we do this ourselves. This allows us to create “existing plans” which are the starting point for our designs.
We then invite consultants to visit site and take their own measurements and discuss ideas, which allows us to provide you with accurate pricing at PRESENTATION.
PDS liaise with the site manager, coordinate off-site manufacturing of joinery and fabrications, inspect the design works including visiting site to coordinate progress.
9. INSTALLATION LOGISTICS
As orders arrive, each item is quality checked and moved into storage. PDS manage the logistics of getting the items to site. Delivery and installation are carried out by professional movers and installers.
10/11. FURNITURE INSTALLATION AND STYLING, AND CLIENT REVEAL
Your new home receives a thorough clean and is perfectly styled and unpacked, without you having to lift a finger. We then reveal your beautiful new space, ready to move in.
12./13. DEFECTS IDENTIFIED AND RESOLVED
If defects occur (human error, items breaking in transit, the new joinery was scratched etc.) we will manage them.
14. PROJECT CLOSURE MEETING
At the completion of the project, we meet with you to make sure everything is in order and return your deposit.
4. DESIGN AND DOCUMENTATION
During this intensive 6-12 week period, we work with an overall design concept and a plan of action. We design an environment which responds directly to your brief, incorporating ideas and discussions from the PRE-DESIGN phase.
We present your wish list with pricing and timelines. At this meeting, you select what you would like to go ahead with and pay a deposit for items to be ordered.
6. ORDER PLACEMENT AND WORKING DRAWINGS
We prepare all the necessary documents including detailed working drawings, schedules and coordination with other services for construction and place orders for furniture, lighting and fittings.
7. TIMELINE REVIEW
We meet with you to review the budget and discuss the project status. This ensures a seamless transition to the DESIGN EXECUTION phase.
